Poison Control

Pets and AnimalOn any given day, Orange County Animal Providers (OCAS) accepts dozens of canines and cats in need of a house. Each sort of pet is different when it comes to care, feeding, habits, price, housing and demands on your time. If you know what you are entering into, you’ll be extra prone to have a cheerful animal, a very good relationship along with your pet, and an easier time coping with any challenges which may come up.

I have relied on All Pets Animal Hospital and their terrific vets and staff to handle my fur infants for over 15 years. They’ve by no means let me down. Most recently, Dr. Brian Loudis did oral surgery on our cat Sammy. I had procrastinated about getting his tooth cleaned and scaled because I apprehensive concerning the anesthesia and put up-operative pain, however I needn’t have-all of it went very nicely. Dr. Loudis saved a vital tooth and sent Sammy home healthy, completely happy, and apparently ache-free. I am so grateful to All Pets Animal Hospital for the excellent health care they always present.

The HSUS opposes all trafficking in pets for resale to laboratories. There have been a variety of circumstances of egregious violations of the Animal Welfare Act by Class B sellers through the years—including inadequate provision of veterinary care, food and water; inhumane handling; fraudulent paperwork that is required to show an animal is just not a stolen pet; and outright trafficking in stolen pets. In 2006, the HBO documentary “Dealing Canine” exposed the atrocious conditions at Martin Creek Kennels—a Class B vendor facility run by C.C. Baird—by an undercover investigation. In actual fact, the original reason for the passage of the Animal Welfare Act—to cease the theft of pets for research—was triggered by a police raid on a Class B vendor, revealing equally horrific animal care and treatment. Whereas the numbers of those sellers have dwindled, little seems to have changed for the higher in these unsavory operations in the intervening years.
